head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council , Ammar al-Hakim, met on Thursday during his visit to Sulaimaniya, Iraq's first lady [Hiro Khan] at the residence of the President Talabani in Sulaimaniya.
The SIIC said in a statement received by All Iraq News Agency (AIN) that “Hakim was reassured on the health of President Talabani, stressing that Mam Jalal is a personal and national symbol for all Iraqis rather than only the Kurds and has high Iraqi, regional and international impact.”
The statement added that “Iraq's first lady congratulated al-Hakim on the results of the elections and the victory of the Citizen Coalition,” noting that “Hiro also assured that President Talabani's health continues to improve and praised the historical relationship that link the Kurds with the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council.”
Hakim arrived in Sulaimaniya today within his visit to Kurdistan Region where he started by visiting Erbil, and meeting the President of the Region, Masoud Barzani. / End/
