Experts from Syria, Russia, China, US, UN, Norway and Denmark agreed on Friday to cooperate as to transport the chemical weapons from Syria.
RT website quoted Director of the Disarmament and Security Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry, Mikhail Ulyanov, as saying that "Everything went well, we agreed on coordinating our marine efforts as to transport the chemical weapons from Syria to the international waters."
Ulyanov said that Damascus stance was constructive as it allowed Danish and Norwegian ships to enter its territorial water as to complete the transportation of its chemical weapons.
He highlighted that the Russian war ships will provide protection for the European cargo vessels.
The meeting was held with the participation of diplomatic and military experts from the aforementioned countries in addition to specialists from many international organizations, including the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the joint mission of the UN and the OPCW in Syria.
Earlier, the OPCW and the UN hailed the cooperation of the Syrian government inregard to the implementation of the chemical disarmament convention.
